For anyone seeking a large SUV with a mafia-boss presence without choosing a Mercedes-Benz G-Class, the Lexus GX 550 is an obvious alternative. Its bold styling, strong performance, and capable off-road hardware make it one of Lexus’s most compelling models. Novel’s new parts give it an even more imposing appearance.
Japanese company Novel produces body kits for a range of Lexus and Toyota vehicles, and it has now launched its first package for the GX 550. The additions are unlikely to appeal to the small percentage of owners who regularly venture off-road, but they give the much larger group that stays on paved roads a sportier, more aggressive look.
The changes begin at the front with a new chin spoiler designed to attach to the factory bumper. Constructed from lightweight fiberglass, it costs $1,560 and is available with free ground shipping throughout the lower 48 US states, making it accessible to GX owners willing to spend the money.
Novel’s front lip is joined by distinctive fender ducts mounted behind the front wheels. They are strictly cosmetic, offering no cooling or aerodynamic advantages, but their appearance suits the body kit. The ducts cost $930, making them less expensive than the front spoiler.

At the rear, Novel offers a distinctive under-spoiler/diffuser that mounts over the standard bumper for $1,500. The company has left the unattractive plastic tow bar cover untouched, however. Vertical fender ducts beside the taillights complete the exterior changes and make the GX look slightly wider. They are priced at $930.
Novel also offers several other GX accessories, including pod-style air filters, replacement wheel nuts, a Sard racing steering wheel, and a plug-and-play upgrade for the SUV’s underwhelming audio system.

Novel’s first GX 550 package adds sportier styling through new front and rear spoilers, cosmetic fender ducts, and a diffuser, while additional accessories include pod-style air filters, wheel nuts, a Sard racing steering wheel, and a plug-and-play audio upgrade. The exterior parts are available with free ground shipping throughout the lower 48 US states.
